The most “radical” of
home renovations, the whole house project more or less involves
just that—the entire home. There may or may not be
additions, but usually interior spaces are enlarged or combined,
kitchens and bathrooms are expanded and remodeled, and both
interior and exterior finishes are changed and updated. While
this project can be quite expensive, the value of homes and
real estate in Atlanta more often than not supports this
approach. And in the end, you get almost exactly what you
were looking for in the first place.
It’s true—there is sometimes no place to
go but up! An attic conversion or adding a second story can
solve a lot of space issues, and in the process, you can
end up with the bonus of a more striking and interesting
home, while saving your yard for landscaping and volleyball.
And in many cases in Atlanta, zoning and setbacks will not
even allow for expanding the footprint of your home, so the
only alternative is up.
